Home Heat Pumps & Air Conditioning

Comfort in your home, no matter the weather

Heat pumps can be an extremely energy-efficient form of home heating and cooling – provided they are sized, installed, and used properly.

Let the experts help you

Tailored solutions to suit the size of your family, space and budget to ensure you are investing in the right solution – consistent, comfortable, and healthy with the lowest possible ongoing cost. We can help with design from the home build concept stage right through to retrofit and replacement.
By visiting your home, or using building plans for new builds, our trained consultant can work with you to:

  • Calculate the correct capacity/size and type of unit to suit the area you want to heat and cool.
  • Determine the optimal positioning of the indoor and outdoor units to maximise their effectiveness and efficiency.

Creating a healthy home

By choosing a heat pump, you can help you and your family breathe cleaner, fresher air and hopefully reduce allergic reactions or allergy-related asthma episodes. Daikin split system heat pumps are approved by the Asthma + Respiratory Foundation New Zealand's Sensitive Choice® program, and are one of the only split systems that carry the blue butterfly symbol.

We can offer all leading brands of air conditioning - Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, Hitachi and are Marlborough’s only accredited Daikin Specialist dealers. Daikin provides products that are world leading in performance, quality and reliability. Come and visit our showroom to see the latest models.

Types of heatpumps

In Home Consulations
Single Split

Split systems have an outdoor unit connected to an indoor unit with a fan that circulates either warm or cool air. Operated with electronic controls, it can be wall mounted, floor standing or under ceiling mounted. Split systems are ideal for those wanting to air condition one room or area of their home.

Multi Split System
Multi Split

A multi-split system can air condition multiple rooms with a single outdoor condenser connecting to multiple indoor units. Multi-split systems are ideal where there is limited space for a number of outdoor units or insufficient space for ducting. They also allow individual temperature control in each room.

Ducted heat Pumps
Ducted Heat Pumps

With a ducted system, a condenser is installed outside the home. The indoor fan coil is located in the ceiling or under the floor with flexible ductwork distributing warm or cool air through vents located in each room of the house.

Customer Testimonial
The Martella crew spent a day at Rowley Homestead installing a Daikin Premium ceiling ducted heating/cooling system in my open plan kitchen and lounge. They were a thoroughly professional team of guys who knew what they were doing, they did a great job and were nice people too! Well ahead of the install, Craig worked through a variety of options with me to ensure that I was choosing the right unit for the space. I really appreciate the level of care and attention that Martella took from start to finish with this install. Many thanks Craig.

Benefits of a Heat Pump Air Conditioner

  • The ultimate in temperature control; warm in winter, cool in summer
  • Improved air quality with built in air-purifying filters that trap fine airborne particles like dust, smoke and pollen in Daikin’s Split System Heat Pumps
  • Enjoy convenient heating and cooling at the press of a button. You can programme your heat pump to turn on before you wake up or get home from work
  • Heat pumps are energy-efficent and economical because of their high COP (coefficient of performance). The COP describes the amount of heat output a heat pump produces compared to the electricity it uses. The higher the COP the more efficient, and therefore economical it is
  • For example a heat pump with a COP ratio of 4:1 will produce 4kW of heat for every 1kW of energy used. In comparison, an electric heater with a COP ratio of 1:1 will only produce 1kW of heat for every 1kW of energy used
