Circulating fresh air in your home makes for a healthier living environment and better air reduces dampness, odours, dust and bacteria, asthma and other respiratory problems, smoke and carbon monoxide inhalation, mould issues, and moisture damage inside your home. Condensation is the visible symptom of unhealthy air in your home.

A heat recovery/ventilation (HRV) system brings outside fresh air into the home while retaining the existing heat via a heat exchanger. This allows the house to be fully ventilated without losing the valuable heat that has already been paid for.

Many other ventilation systems are “positive pressure” systems which can only introduce air into the home but not extract stale air, relying instead on the home to be sufficiently draughty in order to force the air out through cracks in windows and doors. As a result, this type of system is not capable of recovering usable heat from the outgoing air which is subsequently lost. With New Zealand homes becoming more and more airtight, positive pressure ventilation is no longer a viable solution.
